9 out of 10 Maine Grant Recipients Select SNAP Health Center EHR
AMHERST, NH – September 27, 2023 – PSNI, the nation’s leading provider of school electronic health record (EHR) software, today announced that the company’s SNAP Health Center has been selected by 9 out of the 10 recipients of the State grant to acquire an electronic health record.
The State of Maine Department of Education has awarded grants to provide funding to public school systems that implement a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) system for the fiscal year 2023-2024. Using American Rescue Plan, state reservation funds, the Maine Department of Education (DOE) will cover costs of implementing a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) system of up to $6000, which includes a nominal stipend for a school-designated EHR champion. This widespread pilot aims to show that maintaining an electronic health record is beneficial to both local schools and the State of Maine as it will increase the efficiency of services provided, decrease the burden of reporting health data, allow for data-informed decisions and policy, and increase revenue possibilities with MaineCare.
"We chose SNAP because it is one of the most established school nurse software systems developed by a school nurse. We appreciate that training and support is provided by their staff of experienced school nurses." Says Patricia Endsley, Wells High School Nurse.
Janneke Strickland, Cascade Brook School District Nurse Coordinator explained why her district chose SNAP. “Our district researched a few different EHR systems and SNAP was hands-down the best choice! Our representative was quick to respond to questions and shared information about SNAP that made it easy to understand all the benefits of using the program. We love knowing that tech support will be easy to access and are excited to be implementing SNAP into our school district!”
Introduced in 1992, SNAP Health Center was the first comprehensive K12 school electronic health record (EHR) system. For over 30 years, SNAP continues to remain the leading school EHR in the market. SNAP provides a full suite of health management features including medication management, immunization tracking and compliance, full student screening management including integration with many state immunization information systems – including Maine’s ImmPact IIS – and complete incident management.
Tami Lariviere, PSNI’s VP of Sales, was quick to welcome the Company’s new Maine customers. “We’ve been serving Maine school districts for over twenty years now. We know Maine and we’re proud that so many of the grant recipients recognize not only the excellence of SNAP but also our experience serving Maine school districts.” Lariviere continued, “We welcome all of the grant recipients to the PSNI family. We know they’ll see the impact and benefits that an EHR – the industry’s leading EHR – will bring in increasing efficiency and reducing documentation workload.”
